| Monument for poet and author Michel Rodange (1827 – 1876), who also wrote the lyrics for the national anthem, using words and expressions from several dialects. The official name of that work is: ‘Renert oder de Fuuss am Frack an a Maansgréisst’. It concerns an adaptation in Luxembourgish of ‘Reineke Fuchs’ by Goethe, which in turn was inspired by the Middle Dutch epic story ‘Van den vos Reynaerde’ (ca 1260). This explains the fox atop the monument. Photo: AH, 10 February 2013. |
